12-2 Molecular ferroelectric materials and devices
Organizers:
Ren-Gen Xiong (xiongrg@seu.edu.cn), Ordered Matter Science Research Center, Nanchang University
Yu-Meng You (youyumeng@seu.edu.cn), Jiangsu Key Laboratory for Science and Applications of Molecular Ferroelectrics, Southeast University
Scope and topics:
Molecular ferroelectrics have been reviving in recent years due to their outstanding performance realized by effective chemical design and modification since it has been firstly discovered a century ago. The abundant structural flexibility and chemical diversity offer tremendous opportunities for supplementing inorganic and polymer ferroelectrics by integrating functional motifs via inter- and intra-molecular interactions. In the past decade, molecular ferroelectrics have shown remarkable progress in the large spontaneous polarization, high Curie temperature, and giant piezoelectric response comparable or even superior to the inorganic ceramic ferroelectrics, and displayed promising potentials in the field of electrical-mechanical conversion, polarized light detection and photovoltaic applications, etc. To stimulate interdisciplinary innovations in the field of molecular ferroelectrics, this symposium will collect the recent advances of molecular ferroelectric materials and devices from either fundamental or application-oriented perspectives. The symposium will provide a platform for the molecular ferroelectrics community from diverse backgrounds including physics, chemistry, materials science, as well as engineering over the world to exchange ideas, discuss issues, and promote collaborations.
